Hours are 6:30am to 3:00pm (flexible on start time)
* Shift is Monday thru Friday
* Pay rate is $31 to $33 an hour
* The Buyer/ Planner is responsible for all Outside Supplier Process (OSP) to ensure timely receipts of goods/ services to support its operations. This position will also support with planning requirements and/ or operations challenges and constraints.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (But not limited to the following)
* Directly responsible for OSP Purchase Orders and support for some planning functions and requirements in ERP system.
* Prepares and issues purchase orders for OSP to captures in ERP system
* Ensures that proper paperwork to be included with receipt of goods/ services, including certifications of conformance and traceability, are received with the purchased services as required.
* Obtains timely commit dates from suppliers and communicates with sales and production operations as needed to ensure customer schedule adherence
* Manage and negotiate pricing and MOQs if necessary.
* Responsible for the on-time delivery of purchased items and services by maintaining tracking systems and strong communications/relationships with vendors and suppliers.
* Proactively follow ups and confirm due dates and/ or recovery dates with Suppliers.
* Assist planning in a backup role capacity such as launching work orders and issuing material to the shop within our ERP System
* Manage the integrity of the ERP System with the Production Control Team.
* Run Daily Milestones and Open Order Reports that pertains to Purchase Orders.
* Communicate with Production Control Manager regarding PO schedules changes, and delays.
* Perform PO Contract Reviews in production que.
* Play a backup role in planning, raw material and MRO.
* Assist with expediting orders both internally and externally.
* In accordance and adherence with company policy, promotes safety by always working in a safe manner.
* Performs other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning using an ERP system.
* Aerospace experience preferred.
* HS Diploma or equivalent required.
* Higher education preferred.
* Knowledge of MRP/ERP database applications
* Strong communications skills required, both oral and written
* Basic math skills required
* Computer proficiency required
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite
* Intermediate or better in Excel preferred
* Perform job with minimum of supervision
* Work within a team environment
* Respond with sensitivity to people of diverse perspectives
